What motivated you to write
Secrets of a Male Gold Digger?

I had many conversations with women about the role reversal of men in relationships as women become increasingly empowered to make more money than men. When I asked if they had ever dated a man who was strictly interested in financial gain, it was surprising to hear the number of women who had experienced at least one man with ulterior motives. Their stories and the interest level was so high in having a book written from a woman's perspective that I decided it was worth pursuing. The further along I got, the more interesting I found the story. I also thought it was important to convey a message in the book that men and women could equally benefit from.
What is your next project?

My next book is entitled "Two Sides of a Coin". It deals with the combination of reality vs. perception as a couple tries desperately to live their life through an idealistic life style that has been defined by society, family and friends. They individually struggle with their personal demons by hiding their desires and fantasies. What they fail to realize is those influencing them most have a few secrets of their own. The story is based on people's desires to convey an image that is safe, not willing to compromise their sense of security by disclosing their true self.
How long did it take you to write the book?

I spent three months outlining the book, developing the characters and mapping the timeline. I spent an additional 9 months writing, and 2 months of applying changes after my copy editing was complete.
How were you inspired to come up with your characters, especially Victoria Smalls?

Many of the characters in my book are a compilation of myself, others and a little bit of fantasy. I had a lot of fun detailing them because I had become so familiar with them through my character sketching exercise, which made it really interesting to see how they would evolve throughout the story. Trent was probably my most difficult character because I sort of felt sorry for him. I didn't necessarily make him a villain because he had some real issues to overcome. Victoria Smalls is probably one of my favorite characters because she is so witty, smart and charming. I absolutely love the way she handles confrontation.
Will there be a sequel to the book?

Secrets of a Male Gold Digger is a book from the Betrayal Series. Although I am not sure if there will be a sequel, you will definitely see some of the characters return in that series.
What kind of writing have you done in the past?

During undergrad, I spent a year completing my internship for a local television station in Cleveland, Ohio where my interest was purely in journalism. I spent time studying the internal operations of a Newsroom, while learning how to write. During Business School a great deal of my time was spent conducting and writing research. After graduation, I spent my career writing as part of my consulting responsibilities.
