Having completed my first novel, from the Betrayal Series, I’m not sure how I should feel. In one instance, there’s a since of relief, and in another, I feel a great deal of sadness. The journey I traveled to pursue my dream was definitely a wonderful experience that I wouldn’t trade for anything. Not only was I able to grasp a level of satisfaction, but I learned a lot about the art of writing a novel.

I fully understand writing as a discipline and I respect it as such. Having a profound respect for the art helped the development of my novel. I encourage those who seek to author to do the same. I discovered an even greater respect for structure and order. Both essential to developing a solid foundation especially when writing.

As I reminisce on the factors that contributed to the book’s success, what I am most proud of is my patience and perseverance, my knowledge gained, studying other authors, and taking time to develop the story, one building block at time. In combination, one year later, all these things taught me to not lose faith. And that it is perfectly natural to not see the finished line until its time. Having completed the creative task of writing, the daunting business role awaited.

Naturally as a past consultant, it behooved me to orchestrate the creative and business tasks in a manner I would a project, maintaining focus on the repeatable processes, and adhering to the lessons learned.

The journey continues as creativity captivates my thoughts, and I lay the foundation for my next book; more anxious to pursue writing than managing the business. However, when its all said and done, there is something that drives me to want to do again and again, and the encouraging words from my support system keeps me moving forward.

…A Special Thank You
I would be remised, if I didn’t stop to acknowledge all the wonderful people who helped encourage me to persevere. My wonderful support system spanned wide from my Copy Editor to my son.
Thank you God for using me as vessel to speak to the community through my gift to write. Thank you mom and dad for all the years of support in all the things I ever pursued in life, no matter how ridiculous it may have seemed, Thank you Vicki for helping me plan scenes, map timelines, read my manuscript and develop characters. I thank my personal critics Nicole, Charrise, Carol and Denise for proofreading my material and listening to my many hours of expressed excitement and ideas. Thank you Herb, Angela, Greg and Tuts for your patience and in believing in me. Thank you Ramona for inspiring me to write, and your influence that came through your positive energy.
